Plants & Pictures

Plants and Pictures was created through the collaboration between JacqIT, owned by Sjaak de Jong, and Ronald Houtman Sortimentsadvies, owned by Ronald Houtman. Together, they manage an extensive and growing collection of plant photography.

The image library contains more than 30,000 plant photos and is regularly expanded with new material. The photos are suitable for catalogues, trade magazines, journals, books, plant labels and websites.

Ronald Houtman

Ronald Houtman comes from Boskoop and has had a strong interest in photography from an early age. He received his first SLR camera at the age of fifteen. After working with Minolta cameras for many years, he switched to Canon.

His photography mainly focuses on gardens, trees, shrubs and perennials. He also enjoys photographing architecture, landscapes and more abstract subjects.

Through Ronald Houtman Sortimentsadvies, he works professionally in the field of plant intellectual property, assortment advice and the commercial and practical aspects of plant names.

Sjaak de Jong

Sjaak de Jong was born in Reeuwijk and lives in Boskoop. After completing his education, he worked at a medium-sized printing company in Woerden, where he focused on organising and structuring data. He worked extensively with FileMaker Pro.

After several years of experience as head of automation and manager, he started his own IT company in 2008: JacqIT.

JacqIT

JacqIT develops custom software for a wide range of companies. This software is often built on FileMaker Pro, creating practical and user-friendly solutions.

Examples of custom software

  • Catalogues: creating digital catalogues for plants, photos or complete assortments, suitable for PDF, email or print.
  • Labels: producing labels on location, such as stick-in labels, slot labels or hanging labels for plants.
  • Logistics: insight into the issuing, intake and transport of nursery products, also available on mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad or tablet.
  • Stock management: organising items, adding barcodes and scanning products through an app on a phone, tablet or computer.
  • Administration: simple and effective software that provides overview and can help reduce administrative costs.

JacqIT’s software is scalable. Programs can start small with one user and later be expanded for larger teams. JacqIT also has extensive experience with Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad and Mac.

This combination of technical knowledge and custom development enables JacqIT to create software that fits the user’s specific way of working.
